Ok. There are loads of questions asked about where things are so I thought I'd make a sort of guide thing.

Move into a home
If you want to move into a home, look for a street with a green dot next to it and find a house with 'Vacant Property' under it. You must be registered to move in. To decide on which area is right for you go to the Residential Overview. You will be able to upload HTML and stuff after you have made your temporary page. You can only have one home (unless you are really naughty).

Update your home
There are two of ways to update your home: using the template or using the File Manager. The latter option will let you upload all kinds of stuff including HTML, graphics, etc. The first option only lets you fill in a couple of fields. If you use the File Manager you will need Netscape 2.0+ or the File Upload add-on for Internet Explorer - you can then upload 15 files at a time.

So you run into problems...
OK. So you have problems or questions. There are a couple things you can do: check the FAQ or post a question to the Message Boards there is a Newbies board and a Technical board and lots of helpful people.
You could also try your District Minister. If you have a genuine technical problem, try mailing FC Tech Support - note they get several hundred mails a day so don't expect and instant response, try the other things first.

How do I meet other people?
Ah! This is what FortuneCity is all about. There is Chat, the Message Boards, use the People Finder or just surf the home pages for someone with similar interests. If you have lots of time on your hands perhaps you could become a Minister and help other people - go to the Ministers Offices to find out about the Ministers.

Where are all the cool pages?
<COUGH>. Ok so many people haven't spent that long on their pages - not everyone is a web geek. Nevermind. You could: check out the Cool Citizen of the Week, visit Missy's Neighbours Page for a list of Cool sites, or the Kade Accolades to see some of the best sites. The Ministers tend to have cool pages too.

What else is there to do?
You're hard to please. Well you could go shopping for Special Offers in FortuneCity there are Music CDs, Concert and Event Tickets, Books and Holidays/Travel. No?! OK: read the Newspaper, listen to the FC Pirate Radio, gamble at the Casino, read the FortuneCity Storyline, try and pick someone up in the Dateline Diner, and then there is always those thousands of home pages to visit... OK?

How can I get more hits to my site?
Uh... Improve it! Just kidding... You could advertise it on one of the Message Boards (do not spam post to the board) or join one of the web rings. There are several: Fortune City's Best Webring (pretty dead), Rosswell Web Ring, Minister Web Ring (for Ministers only) and Hot in the City Web Ring. There may be others. You could also submit your page to search engines.

What is a Minister anyway?
A Minister is like a an official FortuneCity helper for a particular topic or area. They are soft of meant to be like politicians as well. The Mayor is the head of the Ministers.

Can I steal your graphics?
Yes. Steal anything you like from my site but do not take graphics from my galley without giving me credit. The rest is totally freeware. Feel free to link to my site.
